05 Jun La Caixa’s Emprendedor XXI awards recognise the work of Episkey’s customers

Two of our clients, EHealth and Droplite, were recognised last week by the prestigious Emprendedor XXI awards. La Caixa awards these prizes every year together with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. They reward investors and technology and innovation companies,

We spoke to the second runner-up in the Health category, EHealth, about his career, the award and the outlook for the sector in the context of Covid-19. In addition, we are preparing a post about Droplite and its latest achievements.

For EHealth, this pandemic will make us realise how important it is that technology and health go hand in hand. It will also contribute to the public’s understanding that both are vital sectors to be valued.

The company is dedicated to improving quality of life by improving vision through games that detect and improve visual dysfunctions based on Artificial Intelligence. For them, this award recognises their capacity for innovation and social impact. It also acknowledges the achievement of having already obtained CE marking and medical class and being on the market.

The awards ceremony was held electronically. A total of six categories were awarded: Agro Food, Health, Senior, Mobility, Prop Tech and Impact. The Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, and the Executive Director of Business and Entrepreneurship at CaixaBank, Ana Díez Fontana, took part in the event.

The award is worth 15,000 euros for all winners and gives them access to an international mentoring programme in some of the world’s leading innovation centres. These include Silicon Valley or Cambridge, for winners and finalists in each sector.
